The Gagliano family dominated Neapolitan violin making for 150 years. Nicolo Gagliano is considered the best maker of this family, along with his father, Alessandro, and brother, Gennaro. Nicolo is well known for his cellos, and we are fortunate to have handled a half dozen fine examples in recent years. Like his other cellos, this one follows the Stradivari B form, which was designed to serve the requirements of the emerging solo cello repertoire. This instrument is in fine condition and has a warm, responsive, and noble sound that is suitable for virtuosic playing of any type.
