Violin by

Jean Baptiste Vuillaume
Paris, 1859

After a lifetime of tremendous success in the center of Paris, the celebrated French violin maker, dealer, and expert  J.B. Vuillaume relocated his workshop to his suburban estate in Ternes in 1858 at age 60. This was by no means the end of his activities as he enjoyed another 17 years of making here.

This fine violin, a Stradivari model, was made shortly after his move. It is built with exceptional materials and boasts a sound that is extremely compelling.
