Like many violin makers over the centuries, Gaetano Sgarabotto began his training as a wood carver. He learned violin making from Leandro Bisiach and the Antoniazzi brothers in Milan and later worked in Parma and Brescia. His is considered to be one of the leading makers from the Bisiach circle.
This exceptional violin in near-mint condition is based on a Stradivari model. It was made just a year after Sgarabotto founded his Parma violin-making school. This instrument is perfect for a discriminating collector, and equally suitable for a demanding musician.
