Voller Brothers, London, c.1890

William, Charles and Alfred Voller were notorious for their convincing copies of the old master violin makers; the scandal of their Balfour “Stradivari” shook the London musical world at the turn of the century.

This highly interesting copy of a Francesco Rugeri is one of the most credible we have seen. It was the companion for many years of a beloved East Coast teacher and will no doubt find a similarly appreciative new owner before long.
